Why did you launch Mae Management?
After managing our own property, we saw an opportunity to provide first-class service at a lower price for small to medium sized owners. Bigger property management firms just have too much overhead and complex systems that are unnecessary and expensive. From our own experience, we created a simple, fast, and less expensive platform to provide superior service to our clients.
What is your focus?
Property management for small to medium sized commercial buildings. We don’t do residential and we don’t do large institutional projects
Why should I trust Mae Management to handle my property?
Unlike other management firms, you can still be involved in the fun, enjoyable parts of being an owner. That includes talking through strategies for renewing leases and capital improvements. We simply take the tedious, burdensome tasks off your plate so you can enjoy life more. You won’t have to chase tenants for rent, deal with paperwork such as insurance certificates, or hassle with lease documents. We take all that burden off of you so you can enjoy life, but still be involved in a way that fits your lifestyle.
Describe your typical client.
Most of our clients are experienced investors who own multiple properties that they have been managing themselves for many years. They have reached the point in life where they want to relax, but they still like to stay involved. Being a property owner is fun. They appreciate working with Mae Management because they can talk anytime about any aspect of their property.
What is the most difficult challenge for your clients?
Letting go. After so many years of managing their own properties, it is difficult for them to let someone else handle the details. Their lives are so much better now that they wish they would have hired Mae Management sooner.
Is your management agreement complicated?
No. We kept it very simple and short. Also, we have a 30-day “out clause”. If you are not happy with us, you can cancel the agreement. Life is short and we want our relationships to be fun and pleasant.
I do not need full service property management, rather I just need someone to regularly visit my property and to be on call if there is an urgent problem. Can you do this limited scope of work?
Yes. Some of our owners are just unable to visit their properties on a regular basis, but they still prefer to handle the bookkeeping. We can do a scaled down agreement where we will be your “eyes and ears” at the property. We can meet vendors, handle tenant issues onsite, or check on any areas of concern so you know things are under control.
Many firms advertise that they also do sales & leasing. What about Mae Management?
No. We recognize that sales and leasing is much different than management. We work closely with the brokerage community because we appreciate their market expertise and relationships with prospective tenants. We don’t compete with brokers, we work with them.
